Biography
Born in 1975 in Odessa, Mark Matta is the youngest of two children. Mark loves Odessa and has lived in our wonderful city his entire life, including in District 1 for more than 20 years. While Odessa is a great city, Mark says his fresh ideas and vision for the city of Odessa can unite the citizens of District 1 and develop positive improvement for the city.
Education & Employment
Council Member Matta attended Pease Elementary, Crockett Jr. High and Odessa High School where he graduated with honors. After high school, Mark attended Odessa College and Texas Tech University where he majored in Business Management.
Community Service
He has been active in the community serving in various organizations such as Odessa Barrio Lions Club, Mission Messiah, coaching youth/club soccer and currently serving as a board member for the Odessa Soccer Association. He is also active in his church, Odessa Bible Church, where he serves on the praise and worship team for the English and Spanish services.

Accolades
Council Member Matta currently works as an Account Manager for an oil/gas supply house. It provides him with the perfect platform, to meet and visit with people within the community, allowing him to feel the pulse of this great city.
Family
He has been married to his wife for more than 20 years. They have three amazing children; one who is in college and two who currently attend schools in Ector County. He also enjoys running and competing in obstacle course races such as Tough Mudders and has also competed in triathlons.
