[ARCHIVED] Kick Off of the Third Annual Winterfest Presented by Downtown Odessa, Inc.

Winterfest

Downtown Odessa Inc. is getting ready to kick off its Winterfest celebration!

Odessa, TX – Downtown Odessa, Inc. is proud to kick off the happiest season of the year with the arrival of the annual Parade of Lights as well as the first annual Winterfest Market!

After a brief hiatus in 2020, the Parade of Lights, this year sponsored by Prosperity Bank, is back and will take place on Saturday December 4th beginning at 6:30pm. The parade will start at the intersection of 23rd and Andrews Highway and end at 4th St. and N. Grant Ave.

This year, the parade is accompanied by the Winterfest Market, beginning at 1:00pm and going until 9:00pm. The market will take place on Texas Ave. from 3rd to 5th Street, just one block off the parade route! Besides browsing through the over 40 vendors that will be in attendance, there will be a DJ as well as Christmas themed bounce houses and slides.

Guests are invited to come downtown early and do some holiday shopping for goodies such as handcrafted holiday wares, baked goods, boutique clothing, decor, food trucks and so much more!

The last day to sign up for the December 4th market will be Wednesday, December 1st at 12pm. Online registration for the Parade of Lights will be open until 5pm on December 3rd, and in person registration will be available on December 4th from 1pm-6pm at Odessa College’s campus near the sports center, if space remains; any registrations received after 12pm on Wednesday, December 1st will have a $20 late fee added to their registration fees. The applications for both events are available on the Downtown Odessa, Inc. website, www.downtownodessatx.com.

Also going on in conjunction with the Parade of Lights will be the Jingle Bell Jog, put on by the Odessa YMCA, and a Holiday Mini Pop shopping event hosted by Pop Spot. That event will be taking place inside of Dee’s Bistro (622 N. Lee Ave.) from 2pm-10pm.

Winterfest will have 4 more holiday events and activities this month: the December 18th Teddy Bear Tea sponsored by West Texas National Bank, the December 18th Winterfest Market, a Letters to Santa mailbox placed in downtown for children to send their wishes to Santa, and a New Year’s Eve event taking place inside the Odessa Marriott.
