We recently posted about our Police Recruit Intern Program. Today, meet two of our interns.
Eric Sullivan, 20-years-old, wanted to get some insight into the police force. Eric says he’s enjoyed getting to see the human side of the officers and learning to better serve and help people. He wants to be an officer out in the field interacting with our community.
Alan Avila, 19-years-old, joined because he wants to give back and help. His goal is to be a detective in homicide.
The Police Recruit Intern program is for those ages 18-20. It pays $14.51 an hour, but there are also lots of benefits including health insurance and tuition reimbursement. Eric and Alan are thrilled about the college reimbursement part of the benefits. As we all know, college can be expensive these days. It’s helping them as they work on their degrees.
People also asked if someone could be in college and do this internship. The answer is yes. As long as they’re attending a college here in the Basin.
