Two subjects have been arrested and charged with Murder in connection with the shooting that occurred in the parking lot at 4555 East University.
Martin Monge Hernandez, D.O.B 08/05/2002, was charged with Murder, Felony 1st Degree and evading, arrest or detention with a vehicle, felony 3rd degree. The second subject was identified as Cristian Escarcega, D.O.B. 02/02/1997, was charged with Murder, Felony 1st Degree, and evading arrest or detention, class A misdemeanor.
On October 31, 2021, at approximately 0132 hours, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the parking lot of 4555 East University. Subsequent investigation determined the victim, Jesse Sanchez, D.O.B 12/26/1968, was a patron at the Agave Bar. The victim exited the business and had walked to his vehicle, when multiple gunshots had been fired at him. The victim was transported to Medical Center Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The suspects then exited the parking lot and was pursued by OPD officers. The Ector County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the pursuit, which ended in the area of West Cananero Court. After a brief foot pursuit, both suspects were taken into custody and charged accordingly.
