For five years now, a local restaurant has gone above and beyond for first responders.
La Margarita in Odessa provided a “First Responders Appreciation Breakfast” on Wednesday.
Not only was it for Odessa Police, but the breakfast was also for Odessa Fire Rescue, the Ector County Sheriff’s Department and the list goes on and on. Once again, the event was a big success and had a big turnout of around 75 people.
“I feel it's the best way to do it and say thank you because they keep Odessa safe and they work hard for us,” said Trena Morales, La Margarita Owner.
The Odessa Police Department couldn’t be more thankful.
“It means everything to have a business owner that would take time out of their own busy schedule to show appreciation for first responders and provide a meal to all of us,” said Deputy Chief Matt Davidson, OPD.
Mari Billings has been an employee with La Margarita for 16 years. “We really appreciate what they do and it's fun, it's nice. I know they get up early in the morning and go to sleep late at night,” said Billings.
“It means everything to us. Trena has been putting this together for us for quite a while now and it's just amazing the effort that she goes through to show appreciation to us,” said Deputy Chief Robert Doporto, OPD.
“It means a lot. They're putting their time and effort to feed us and to take care of us,” said Detective Yolanda Medrano, OPD.
