Odessa Police have made an arrest in connection to a major crash that occurred last weekend in Northeast Odessa. Charles Clinton Hawn, 32 years of age, has been charged with two counts of Intoxication Assault “3rd Degree Felony” and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon “Class A Misdemeanor”.
On April 23, 2021 at approximately 2332 hours, Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to Faudree and P-Bar Ranch in reference to a major crash. Investigation revealed that a black Ram 1500, being operated by Charles Hawn, was traveling in the 6800 block of North Faudree and went into oncoming traffic before striking a blue Toyota RAV4.
The driver of the RAV4 was identified as a 21-year-old male and the passenger was identified as a 14-year-old male. Hawn and both occupants of the RAV4 were transported to a local hospital with serious bodily injury. The 14-year-old male was later air-lifted to Lubbock.
Hawn was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a firearm. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, the OPD Traffic Unit obtained warrants for Hawn, who was later charged and arrested accordingly. Hawn was transported to the ECLEC on 5-3-21.
