Growing up in a small town with less than a hundred people in the graduating class makes Odessa look like a big city—at least, that's what Corporal Dave Meisner and his wife Anna thought when they moved to Odessa.
Meisner grew up in Ohio and decided it was time for a change. He moved to Odessa 5 years ago and has been with the Odessa Police Department since then. He is very passionate about his job!
"I wanted a profession where I could make a difference in my life and others."
Dave says that one of his favorite parts of his job is training PPO's and helping them grow as officers. A PPO is a Probationary Police Officer in Field Training before becoming a stand-alone officer. The other aspect of his career that he loves is that every day is different and "that it makes you always want to grow and learn."
He is also passionate about DWI enforcement. He says too many people you talk to have been affected by a drunk driver and that every DWI arrest is a life that has been saved.
