An Odessa native and former Harlem Globetrotter will soon be holding a basketball camp here in our wonderful city. Richard McCalop Jr. graduated from Permian High School in 2011 and continues to make incredible strides in his career.
Last year, Richard was in Adam Sandler’s film, Hustle. He’s also in a popular, world-famous video game NBA 2K and can be seen in the motion capture dunks. Something else exciting, Richard is also in a Google Pixel Commercial.
He’s proud to have been born and raised in Odessa and loves coming home. When we talked about his ties to our city, he also remembers his involvement with the YMCA and how they helped him along the way.
The 2nd Annual Richard McCalop Jr. Basketball Camp will take place July 15 -16 and is open to all ages and it's $50.
