[ARCHIVED] Keeping You Informed - Gas Smell Concerns

Some residents are calling in concerned about a gas smell.

Odessa Fire Rescue is on scene of an incident on the 3200 block of W. 2nd. They had been receiving numerous calls about a gas smell. While it is a strong smell, they say there’s no need to be concerned.

It’s a heater treater that's damaged and spewing product into the air and ground. The Western Oaks Trailer Park is nearby. 

OFR says the site appears to be abandoned and the company numbers are all disconnected. They believe it’s crude with H2S.  Environmental, TCEQ, and Railroad Commission have all been notified.
