[ARCHIVED] Odessa Fire Rescue names New Fire Chief

Chief Jason Cotton

Chief Jason CottonJason Cotton’s second home growing up was OFR.  His father, Hyram Cotton, worked there for 30 years and retired as a Senior Captain.  His brother, James Cotton, also worked at the department for 30 years and retired as a Captain.  In one of the pictures, you will see his nephew, Jarret Cotton, who also worked for OFR.
Jason has been with Odessa Fire Rescue for 27 years now.  He’s been the Interim Fire Chief for almost four months, and his leadership has done AMAZING things for the department.  He’s experienced and passionate about being a firefighter and a man of INTEGRITY!
He was also born and raised right here in Odessa.  He graduated from Permian High School where he played football and baseball.  Jason also graduated from Odessa College with a B.A. in Leadership Management.
Congrats, Chief Cotton!  We know you’ll continue to do great things for OFR and our incredible City of Odessa!
