Another water line replacement project will begin Monday, March 20, 2023 in the 500 block of W. 25th and W. 22nd North Alley. The project will take about four months to complete. This section of the water line was installed back in 1964 and has had several line breaks.
Edgardo Madrid and Associates is the Contractor for this project and is responsible for handing out notices to customers. Prior to any street and alley closures, the contractor will give a one week notice to nearby residents and a 24 hour notice to any customers that will be affected during water main shutdowns. Traffic Control will be set up in the streets surrounding the project and dumpsters will be relocated to the streets.
As we've told you before, we have contracted this work to assist our City personnel with projects that would entail our staff to not be available for emergency repairs, water and sewer line replacements, sewer stops etc. that require immediate attention. This enables our City staff to be readily available to respond to the public utility needs.
When completed, it will replace roughly 2,400 feet of cast iron pipe along with the service taps, fire hydrants and valves. It is estimated to cost around $250,000.
Know we are always working for YOU and to make our city a better place!
