A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held November 9th at the newly completed Fire Station 6!
The City of Odessa is proud to announce the construction of Fire Station 6 (2110 Penbrook Street) is now complete.
A ribbon cutting honoring this momentous occasion will be held November 9, at 10 am.
Station 6 will have 5 bays and the classroom will have the ability to convert to an Emergency Operations Center as needed. It also includes an SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) room for fit testing, compliance and filling air cylinders. It will give us the ability to expand our services in EMS if needed. We will also have the ability to house specialty vehicles in the future for all-hazards response and multi-casualty incidents.
In addition to these amenities, we have also incorporated the cancer initiative with exhaust fans and system placed in the truck room while also including positive pressure areas that separate the fire station from truck room.
This station may also serve as a satellite office for the Odessa Police Department (OPD).
Artwork throughout the station is representative of current fire fighters. Additional art on the station itself such as the stained-glass windows are made possible by Odessa Arts.
