Corporal Michael Stewart has been working with the Odessa Police Department for 15 years. He has been teaching the recruits transportation code, crash investigation, and as we saw yesterday, how to direct traffic.
He feels that hand-on training helps recruits retain information better and also helps develop their response to activities that OPD handles day-to-day.
When asked what it means to be teaching the next generation of officers, Corporal Stewart said, "In the future, I want to see them be successful. If they are, I would like to know I helped them get started."
We are thankful for your service Corporal Stewart!
