The City of Odessa is proud to announce the construction of Fire Station 9 (1900 87th Street) is now complete.
A ribbon cutting honoring this momentous occasion will be held September 16, 2022, at 10 am.
Fire Station 9 can house up to ten personnel and is equipped with 4 bays that can hold additional units to include a fire truck and ambulance. Among other amenities included in the station are a gym for our fire fighters, an extractor washing machine room to wash fire gear as well as a decontamination room.
In addition to these amenities, we have also incorporated the cancer initiative with exhaust fans and system placed in the truck room while also including positive pressure areas that separate the fire station from truck room.
This station may also serve as a satellite office for the Odessa Police Department (OPD).
Artwork throughout the station is present to honor the Hurt Ranching Family who donated the land on which the fire station is located as well as additional art on the station itself such as the stained-glass windows made possible by Odessa Arts and the art itself created by artists Keeley Musgrave and Michael Shield from Colorado.
