On 1-2-21 at approximately 1817 hours, Odessa Police responded to 100 East University (CVS) in reference to a male subject that left behind a suspicious object inside the store. Precautionary measures were taken by evacuating all persons inside the business. A member of the OPD Bomb Squad Unit responded and the suspicious object was found to be a flip-top lighter with wires placed inside. This device was cleared and found to not be an explosive device. All person’s involved were evacuated in a safe manner, as there was never an immediate threat to the area.
